The game is set in 2021, ten years after the events of Dead Rising 2, in the fictional city of Los Perdidos, California.
It follows the story of Nick Ramos, a young mechanic who must survive a massive zombie outbreak and escape the city before a military strike wipes it out.
The game features an open-world environment that is much larger than the worlds of previous games, allowing players to explore and fight zombies in a variety of ways.
Players can save their progress anywhere, and the game includes a "Nightmare Mode" for those who prefer the traditional time limit and save options.
Dead Rising 3 also expands upon the crafting system introduced in Dead Rising 2, allowing players to create "combo weapons" and "combo vehicles" on the fly.
The game received positive reviews, with IGN giving it an 8.3/10.
The game's story mode is longer than 72 hours, and it includes multiple alternate endings based on player choices.
The game was also released on PC in 2014, with the "Apocalypse Edition" available for pre-order.

The "Forkwork" is a vehicle in Dead Rising 3 that can seat Nick and one other passenger.
It is very slow and has relatively low durability. Additionally, it is easy to tip over if trying to take a turn too sharply, and should only be driven in a desperate situation. Nick can use the forks on the forklift by tapping, but it is only a novelty as the forks don't actually lift anything.
The forklift can be combined with a Fireworks Van to make the Forkwork.

Dead Rising 3 is the seventh installment in the Dead Rising series, developed by Capcom Vancouver and released in 2013. Set in 2021, ten years after the events of Dead Rising 2, the story follows Nick Ramos, a young mechanic trapped in the fictional city of Los Perdidos, California. Nick must navigate a massive zombie outbreak and escape the city before a military strike totalizes the area.

Gameplay

The game features an open-world environment significantly larger than its predecessors. Players can explore the city, rescue survivors, and engage in the series' signature zombie-slaying combat. A key expansion is the "Combo Vehicle" system, allowing Nick to craft specialized machinery on the fly. The game includes a "Nightmare Mode" for veterans and offers multiple endings based on player choices and time management.

Forklifts

The standard forklift in Dead Rising 3 is a drivable vehicle that seats two players. It is notoriously slow, has low durability, and a high center of gravity that makes it prone to tipping during sharp turns. While Nick can manually operate the forks, they are primarily a novelty. However, the forklift serves as a core component for the "Forkwork" combo vehicle, created by merging a forklift with a Fireworks Van to create a festive, explosive instrument of destruction.
