Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is a third-person shooter and hack-and-slash game developed by Saber Interactive and published by Focus Entertainment, serving as a direct sequel to the 2011 title.

Set in the early 42nd Millennium during the Era Indomitus, the game follows Captain Titus, a Primaris Space Marine of the Ultramarines chapter, as he returns from a 100-year absence to lead a desperate defense against a massive Tyranid invasion and a hidden Chaos plot.

The narrative is deeply rooted in the grimdark lore of the Warhammer 40,000 universe, with the Imperium of Man engaged in the Indomitus Crusade to reclaim lost worlds.

The game features a campaign lasting approximately six to seven hours, spread across three planets, which is complemented by a separate cooperative mode called Operations, consisting of six side missions that provide crucial narrative context and are designed for replayability with randomized powerful enemies.

The gameplay blends ranged combat with a satisfying melee system, featuring a parry and dodge mechanic, and is enhanced by Saber Interactive's Swarm Engine, which creates large-scale, dynamic battles against swarms of Tyranid creatures.

There are forklifts in the game as well, though they cannot be controlled by players.

Trivia

There's a small community of people using 3D-printers to create miniature forklifts for Space Marine figurines. Notable examples are shown below.
