Gameplay
The main objective is to explore the ocean and survive its dangers while completing tasks to advance the plot. Players can collect resources and blueprints, construct tools, build bases and submersibles, and interact with the planet's wildlife. Some of the most extreme dangers to the player include but are not limited to: Crabsquids, Warpers, Mesmers, Bonesharks, Ampeels, Stalkers, Crashfish, and Leviathan-class lifeforms like the Reaper, Sea Dragon and Ghost Leviathans.
Forklifts
The game has an abundance of forklits scattered around the open world. All of them seem to be of the same model though, an orange colored electrical machine most likely constructed by the Alterra corporation.
Despite players engaging in petitions to make the forklift drivable in the game, this has not happened and the forklift remains as a scenery item.

A youtuber created this story on the background of the forklift in the game, and while some of the points made are completely made up it makes a good job at tying the story into existing game lore.
