Halo: Reach is a first-person shooter video game set in the Halo universe and serves as a direct prequel to Halo: Combat Evolved, depicting the Fall of Reach. The game was developed by Bungie, LLC. and published by Microsoft Game Studios for the Xbox 360 console.

Gameplay

The campaign in Halo: Reach consists of eleven levels, ten of which are playable, and follows Noble Team, a squad of SPARTAN-III Commandos, as they fight against the Covenant during the Fall of Reach. The story begins with Noble Six, a customizable Spartan, joining the team and embarking on missions to defend Reach from the Covenant invasion. The game's narrative is set in the year 2552, during the Covenant invasion of the Human colony world Reach, which serves as the main military center of the UNSC. The game is considered by many to be the greatest Halo game of all time, with a strong plot and excellent pacing.

Forklifts

The forklift in Halo: Reach is a civilian vehicle that was introduced as a drivable option for players, adding a unique and humorous element to the game. Manufactured by Traxus Heavy Industries, the S-2 Traxus Cargo Transporter is a simple and utilitarian forklift designed for lifting and transporting heavy objects. In the game, it appears in several campaign levels and the Firefight map Courtyard.

Despite its slow speed, the forklift is extremely explosive and can be used strategically as a mobile explosive device. Players can position it in choke points and use grenades to create powerful explosions that can kill enemies. However, due to its lack of speed and defensive capabilities, it is largely considered useless in gameplay, except for its comedic and novelty value.

Internet culture

The forklift gained a significant following among fans, becoming a meme and a symbol of the game's quirky and unconventional elements. It was first revealed at San Diego Comic Con and was noted for its uselessness but fun factor. The vehicle's inclusion in the game was initially planned to have features like raising and lowering its forks, but this was cut due to being deemed "crazy and pointless".

Overall, the forklift in Halo: Reach is a unique and memorable part of the game, appreciated for its humor and the community's affection for it.
