Crysis is a first-person shooter video game developed by Crytek and published by Electronic Arts for Microsoft Windows, released in November 2007.
The game is set in a future where a massive, ancient alien-built structure is discovered buried inside a mountain in the fictional Lingshan Islands, near the coast of the east Philippines. The single-player campaign follows U.S. Army Delta Force soldier Jake Dunn, known in-game as Nomad, who is equipped with a futuristic "Nanosuit" that grants him enhanced physical abilities such as strength, speed, armor, and cloaking. The player fights both North Korean and extraterrestrial enemies in various environments on and around the island. The game is known for its advanced graphical design and high hardware requirements.
A remastered version of the game, titled Crysis Remastered, was released for multiple platforms in 2020. The game also features a standalone expansion called Crysis Warhead, released in 2008, which follows a different narrative perspective.
The series includes a sequel, Crysis 2, set in New York City in 2023, and a third installment, Crysis 3, which concludes the trilogy. A fourth game, Crysis 4, was announced in 2022, though details about its development are limited.
The forklifts featured within the game looks like standard electrical warehouse forklifts. The player can partially take cover behind them while fighting enemies, but there are better options for that purpose so they don't provide much more functionality than decoration.
