Deus Ex: Human Revolution is a 2011 action role-playing game developed by Eidos Montréal and published by Square Enix. Set in 2027, the game explores a future where human augmentation is becoming mainstream, with mechanical augmentations allowing individuals to gain enhanced abilities.

The player assumes the role of Adam Jensen, a security consultant for Sarif Industries, a biotechnology firm specializing in cybernetics. After a black ops team attacks Sarif Industries' headquarters, critically injuring Jensen and kidnapping his colleagues, he undergoes mechanical augmentation to survive and embarks on a mission to uncover the truth behind the attack.

The game delves into themes of transhumanism, ethics, and the consequences of technological advancement, presenting players with complex moral choices that influence the story's outcome. The narrative involves various factions, including the Illuminati, anti-augmentation groups like the Humanity Front, and corporations such as VersaLife and Tai Yong Medical, each with their own agendas.
