Mass Effect 3 is a 2012 action role-playing game developed by BioWare and published by Electronic Arts. It is the third major entry in the Mass Effect series and the final installment of the original trilogy. The game is set in the year 2186, where the galaxy faces an invasion by the Reapers, a highly advanced machine race of synthetic-organic starships.

The player takes on the role of Commander Shepard, who must unite various galactic species to combat the Reapers and prevent the extinction of organic life.
