Resident Evil 2 (Remake) is a 2019 survival horror game developed and published by Capcom, serving as a remake of the original 1998 game. It was built on the RE Engine, which was also used for Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, and features a similar photorealistic graphic style and user interface, but with a third-person camera similar to Resident Evil 4.
The game follows rookie police officer Leon S. Kennedy and college student Claire Redfield as they attempt to escape Raccoon City during a zombie outbreak. Players control either Leon or Claire, with their choice affecting the weapons, areas, items, subplot, supporting characters, and the final boss. The game includes a "2nd Run" game mode, which shortens the playthrough time required and adjusts the presence of items and the answers to various puzzles.
The remake received acclaim for its presentation, gameplay, and faithfulness to the original, and by September 2024, it had sold 14.5 million copies, becoming the best-selling Resident Evil game.
The forklift model in the game is identical to the one in Resident Evil 3 (Remake).
