Car Mechanic Simulator 2018 is a simulation video game developed by Red Dot Games, where players take on the role of a professional automotive mechanic. The game allows players to repair, paint, tune, and drive a vast array of vehicles, with the goal of expanding their workshop and mastering increasingly complex mechanical tasks.
Gameplay
From a first-person perspective, players utilize a wide variety of unlockable tools and equipment to complete jobs and earn experience. A core loop involves sourcing damaged vehicles from "Barn Find" and "Junkyard" modules, restoring them to factory (or better) condition, and deciding whether to resell them for profit or add them to a personal collection. The game also features a Car Editor and numerous licensed DLC packs.
Forklifts
While not in the base game, a popular community mod available on the Steam Workshop allows players to purchase and restore a basic counterbalance forklift. Once rescued from the junkyard, the forklift can be fully overhauled and even modified with custom parts to increase its top speed on the test course.
