Syphon Filter 2 is a third-person tactical shooter released on March 14, 2000, developed by Eidetic and published by SCEA in Europe, and 989 Studios in North America for the PlayStation. The story continues immediately after the first game, following protagonists Gabriel Logan and Lian Xing as fugitives branded by the US government after uncovering its connection to the deadly Syphon Filter virus.
Gameplay
In the game the player control operatives like Gabe Logan and Lian Xing, navigating through environments ranging from the foggy streets of Moscow to the icy halls of a Siberian gulag. The gameplay mixes stealth and direct combat, where players often use silenced sniper rifles or tasers to take out enemies quietly before moving to the next objective.
