Dead or Alive 5 is a fighting game developed by Team Ninja and published by Tecmo Koei. As the fifth main entry in the series, it marked the franchise's return to multi-platform releases. The game is set two years after Dead or Alive 4, following the interweaving stories of the DOA tournament participants and the high-stakes hunt for Kasumi's malevolent clone.

Gameplay

The title introduces the "Critical" system, including Critical Stuns, Combos, and Bursts, alongside Power Blows that allow players to trigger cinematic environmental "Danger Zone" transitions. The roster features classic DOA fighters alongside guest characters from Sega's Virtua Fighter series. Modes include a comprehensive Story mode, Online play with ranked matches, and a robust Training mode for mastering complex frame data.

Forklifts

In certain industrial and military-themed stages, forklifts appear as part of the interactive background scenery. These heavy vehicles contribute to the "Danger Zone" aesthetic, where fighters can be knocked into environmental hazards for extra damage, proving that even in a world-class martial arts tournament, proper warehouse safety is a secondary concern to a well-placed kick.
