The Outer Worlds is a single-player first-person sci-fi RPG developed by Obsidian Entertainment and published by Private Division. Set in a corporate dystopian universe, players awaken decades after being lost in space to find themselves in the midst of a conspiracy threatening the Halcyon colony.
Gameplay
Often compared to the Fallout series, the game features classic RPG sensibilities, focused story hubs, and branching dialogue. Players can make decisions that affect the narrative and their relationships with companions. The combat includes a "Tactical Time Dilation" system, similar to bullet-time, and a robust character skill system that allows for various playstyles.
Forklifts
The AI-controlled forklifts, known as Automechanical Loaders, are spread out across the game world and frequently provide humorous scenes for the player.
