XCOM: Enemy Unknown is a turn-based tactical strategy game in the XCOM series developed by Firaxis Games and published by 2K Games. It is a re-imagining of the classic 1994 title UFO: Enemy Unknown.
Gameplay
Players take on the role of the commander of XCOM, an elite international organization defending Earth from an alien invasion. The game combines strategic base management—including researching alien technology and training soldiers—with intense turn-based tactical combat missions across the globe. Success was followed by a sequel, XCOM 2, in 2016.
