Battlefield 6 is a 2025 first-person shooter developed by Battlefield Studios and published by Electronic Arts, released for PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S on October 10, 2025.

The game marks a return to the series' classic large-scale warfare formula, drawing inspiration from Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4, with a serious tone and a focus on infantry and vehicular combat.

Set between 2027 and 2028, the narrative centers on a conflict between a fractured NATO and Pax Armata, a powerful private military corporation that emerges after the assassination of the NATO Secretary General and the withdrawal of twelve nations from the alliance.

Players assume the role of elite Marine Raiders from the Dagger 1-3 squad, engaging in a global campaign that spans locations such as New York City, Gibraltar, Cairo, and Tajikistan, with missions involving sabotage, extraction, and counter-attacks against Pax Armata's escalating aggression.

The multiplayer mode features four core classes—Assault, Engineer, Support, and Recon—each with unique abilities and weapon specializations, alongside a variety of returning and new game modes such as Conquest, Breakthrough, Rush, and the new Escalation and Sabotage modes.

A significant addition is the Kinesthetic Combat System, which enhances movement with features like leaning around cover, hitchhiking on vehicles, and dragging fallen teammates to safety before reviving them.

Environmental destructibility remains a key tactical element, allowing players to demolish buildings and create new paths during combat.

The game also reintroduces and overhauls the Battlefield Portal feature, now powered by the Godot engine, enabling players to create custom maps and game modes using in-game assets and scripting tools.

A free-to-play battle royale mode titled RedSec was released on October 28, 2025, alongside the game’s first season, and includes a knockout mode called Gauntlet and support for Portal content.

Iberian Offensive

Iberian Offensive is a map based on the streets of Gibraltar. It was one of the maps included in the open beta before the game launched. The map features an old but stylish forklift model that players can use as cover while bullets are raining past them in every direction.
