Battlefield 6 is an upcoming first-person shooter developed by Battlefield Studios—comprising DICE, Criterion Games, Motive Studios, and Ripple Effect Studios—and published by Electronic Arts, set for release on October 10, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S.

The game is set in 2027, depicting a conflict between a fractured NATO and a private military company named Pax Armata. It returns to a classic Battlefield formula with four core classes—Assault, Engineer, Support, and Recon—each offering unique abilities and weapon specializations, such as the Recon's auto-spotting trait and breath-holding for sniping, the Engineer's vehicle repair and motion sensor mines, the Support's rapid reviving and supply bag deployment, and the Assault's adrenaline boost and faster weapon switching.

Gameplay emphasizes objective-based multiplayer modes like Conquest, Breakthrough, Rush, and the new Escalation mode, where control points diminish over time, funneling players into key areas.

The game features a new "Kinesthetic Combat System" enabling actions like crouch sliding, sprint-crouching, and dragging fallen teammates to safety, alongside a robust weapon customization system with attachment points limiting modifications.

Environmental destructibility remains a core feature, allowing players to destroy buildings and obstacles, though some structures like bunkers are sturdier. The game includes nine maps at launch, with the return of the Battlefield Portal for user-created content using a new Godot-powered editor, and the battle royale mode from Battlefield V is expected to return.

Iberian Offensive

Iberian Offensive is a map based on the streets of Gibraltar. It was one of the maps included in the open beta before the game launched. The map features an old but stylish forklift model that players can use as cover while bullets are raining past them in every direction.
