The game follows the Doom Slayer, an ancient warrior awakened during a demonic invasion on Mars in 2148, as he battles demonic forces within an energy-mining facility on Mars and in Hell.

The game received positive reviews, with praise for its single-player campaign, graphics, soundtrack, and gameplay, although the multiplayer mode drew significant criticism.
